The 2017 Competition March 26 – April 2, 2017 is open to qualified applicants between the ages of 18 and 30 years of age, as of the first day of the competition.
Over $33,000 in prize money:
1st Place Solo – Recital at Carnegie-Weill Hall in NYC, plus $10,000
Concerto First Place – $10,000
Earl Wild Transcription Prize – $1,500
2nd Place Solo and 2nd Place Concerto – $5,000 each
3rd Place Solo and 3rd Place Concerto – $2,500 each
All rounds of the competition are open to the public. All preliminary rounds and master classes are free to the audience at the Indian Wells Theater, located on the campus of CSUSB-Palm Desert, 37-500 Cook St., Palm Desert, CA 92211
Solo Final requires a ticket, $20 per ticket through the Waring office;
Concerto Final at the McCallum Theatre requires a ticket, available only through www.McCallumTheatre.com (be sure and go only to this website – tickets range in price from $17 to $77) – beware of online scalping agencies!
