Born into a musical family, Miao Hou began her piano studies in China at age four and by seventeen had concertized throughout China.  She has won numerous competition prizes in China and the United States and was a finalist at the Hilton Head International Piano Competition.  She has appeared as a soloist in many US venues and has participated in many music festivals.  Ms. Hou recently had her Carnegie Hall debut under the baton of Leon Fleisher.  She is a graduate of The Curtis Institute of Music, where she was a pupil of Seymour Lipkin and received the school’s Festorazzi Prize for “Best Pianist of the Year”.  She is now pursuing her Master of Music Degree from The Juilliard School, where she studies with Jerome Lowenthal.
