A native of Japan, Chie Watanabe graduated from Tokyo College of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree and received an Artist Diploma from Texas Christian University, where she was a winner of the University Concerto Competition.  She continued graduate studies at the Manhattan School of Music, receiving a Master of Music degree as a student of Solomon Mikowsky. 

Ms. Watanabe has won many prizes and awards in Japan and the United States and had her New York debut as an Artists International prizewinner, performing at Carnegie Hall in 2006.  She is currently a scholarship student of Gustavo Romero at the University of North Texas where she is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree.
