Volunteer Opportunities

Enhance your VWIPC experience by becoming a volunteer. You will meet young artists from around the world as well as play a vital role in this unique musical event.You will meet other like minded people who love music and love helping nurture young talented pianists.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS - The organization is run by a volunteer Board of Directors.  There is the General Board that meets twice a year; and there is the Executive Committee that meets 10 times a year and sets policy for the VWIPC and gives direction to the staff.

VOLUNTEER COMMITTEES:

DEVELOPMENT / FUNDRAISING: Develop and execute long and short term fundriasing strategies adn plsn to maintain and enlarge the scope of corporate, business and indivisual donors and sponsors.

  • SUBCOMMITTEES:
  • THE BLACK AND WHITE BALL - This committee plans and organizes the elegant Black and White Ball, the annual major fundraiser for the VWIPC.  The Black and White Ball is one of the highlights of the area's social season.  Attendees receive hosted cocktails and hors d'oeuvres; a scrumptious 3 course dinner and wonderful entertainment and dancing.

MARKETING -

Help with all aspects of marketing including networking at City Chamber events, Conventions and Expos; dissemination of materials to support the needs of the organization to local and regional organizations, country clubs, businesses, youth and senior centers, including in person, electronic, print, website and social marketing methods.  Volunteers with computer and graphic skills particularly needed.

SUBCOMMITTEES:

  • AMBASSADORS / SPEAKERS' BUREAU - Tell other groups about our wonderful contestants and winners, and the work that the VWIPC does to enrich the community.  Encourage others to get involved as volunteers and supporters.
  • PUBLIC RELATIONS - Help with press releases, press kits, photos
  • SALES - Support the organization and meet members of the community by promoting Key Players memberships, Tribute Book and Competition Program Book Ads
  • HOSPITALITY
  • COMMUNITY & EDUCATION OUTREACH PROGRAMS Develop and execute measurable and achievable outreach activities that benefit the community including schools, youth and senior centers.  Work closely with Development Committee to fulfill grant requirements and with the Artistic Committee with regard to Pre and Post Assembly Materials, i.e. study guides for the schools that tie in with California State Standards.
  • COMPETITION SERVICES   - Help house and transport contestants during the actual 8 days of the competition and help with other activities.
  • BUDGET / FINANCE - Establish and oversee operations and specific program budgets.
