Jihae Lim was born in Seoul, Korea and began private piano studies at the age of four.    She participated in the Young Virtuoso International Competition in Moscow and won third prize at the age of fifteen.  She has won numerous competitions including the Bradshaw and Buono International Competition in New York (2005), the International Chopin Competition in Japan (2004) and the Eumyoen Competition (2002). 

She received her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from Seoul National University and her Master of Music degree at the Manhattan School of Music where she studied with Solomon Mikowsky. Ms. Lim is currently in the graduate program of piano performance at New York University, studying with Eduardus Halim.
