Byron Janis Honored at 2009 Black & White Gala »

The 2009 Black & White Ball on January 25, 2009 honored concert pianist Byron Janis.  The black tie gala was part of a "Byron Janis" Festival that included a master class conducted by Janis, a recital by concert pianist, former Hodges winner and former Janis student, James Giles, and a showing of a working biographical documentary on Janis. 

The Black and White Ball is the major fundraiser for the Virginia Waring International Piano Competition.  It is considered by many as one of the premiere gala events in the Desert, a true testament considering that there are over 675 charity events held annually.
